Fourth Of July!

Today has been such a great day so far! I got to sleep in, Matt made me breakfast this morning, and I got to dress up in costume as Uncle Sam (well, at least it feels that way)!

We grilled, I made a red velvet patriotic cake, and we are going to enjoy some fireworks in just a bit!

Hey loves! I'm finally all settled in and ready to get back on track! It's been quite an experience so far here in OKC. The weather is...hot, very, very hot which really puts a damper on my awesome outfits I had planned!  I'm definitely having to find that balance between style and comfort, and  I'm finding that easy simple basics in bright colors and cool fabrics is the way to go (with a handful of accessories added of course).

Yesterday, Matt and I went to the Stars and Stripes River Festival (an early Fourth of July celebration), and this is what I wore..

We are BBQing and having festive drinks on the Fourth, then hopefully watching some fireworks from our home! What are you doing to celebrate?

Hey guys! I've been so busy lately getting everything in line for my big move to Oklahoma City, that I've kind of pushed my blog to the side (I know, I'm horrible). Packing, seeing friends and family, and just enjoying my last days in my hometown has been bittersweet, but I'm excited for change and finally being able to live with my boyfriend, Matt.

I hope to make friends that love fashion just as much as I do, and update you guys on my great adventure!

Until then, I leave you with this awesome, very fashionable photograph where the models are wearing recycled materials!

DIY: Caviar Manicure

Hey guys! I know it's been a while, but I've finally got the internet up and running on my computer again. So I am back with lots of inspiration and ready to blog about it!

Recently Ciaté came out with what they call the caviar manicure, and as I was browsing pinterest I saw so many amazing DIY's that I wanted to try it out for myself! It's actually very easy, and takes a very short time to do.

Below is a tutorial of how I did mine!

Things you will need:
-Nail polish color of your choice (I used Chelly shade #69 and shade #17)
-A top coat
-Microbeads (Available at Michael's or on ebay)
-Paper Plate (To catch any excess beads)
-Small Measuring Spoon

I used Martha Stewart microbeads that I got at Michael's on sale for $7.99!

I used pastel colors for my polish and microbeads, and mixed in clear for a bit of sparkle.

^First, paint one coat of polish with your desired color and let completely dry.

As you let the first coat dry, fill the measuring spoon with the microbeads, over the plate.

^ Paint a heavy second coat, wait a second and dip and press into the microbeads (see below pic)

^Pat beads into nail, making sure the entire surface is covered.

After waiting about 10 minutes, apply a top coat over the tips of the nails to seal it.

And that's it! You are done, and ready for a fun night out on the town full of compliments!

Hope you enjoyed and let me know how yours go!

Be Mine!

Hope everyone had a great Valentine's Day! I was a busy bee today; worked at the salon, picked up my little Valentine, Fisher from school, made cake pops together(not the easiest task, they are so tedious!), and then went to my grandparents to celebrate their 53rd Anniversary<3!!

Fun, festive skirt from Old Navy with perfect colors for Valentine's Day!

My attempt at cake pops..the white one is my fave.

I tried!

Pastels

We haven't had a cold day here in a really long time, so wearing dark colors is really putting a damper on things! I'm ready for a light and airy spring wardrobe, including lots and lots of pastels. I've always been in love with the playfullness of this pallette and I can't wait to transition into it.

Colored pants are number one on my list.

Skirts and dresses with a lot of movement or structered silhouettes are a go!

What's your favorite trend this spring?
